A Trip To The Movies

Today we have been to the Kids AM club at Gunwharf Quays to see Yogi Bear! It was fab! Hannah, who is very timid when it comes to movies thought it was really good, and funny, and most importantly, not even a little bit scary!!

And afterwards we found a few fairground style rides to try out - Hannah especially liked the airplane as she could fly it up and down herself!

Another nice day despite the fact that i'm suffering from a horrible cold!

Adventure Group - A New Location

Yesterday was our first day back to our Homeschooling group after the Easter break and we had moved location. We have been lucky enough to have been given use of a new, bigger adventure playground for our adventure group meetings, so yesterday was a free-play session to get to know the playground.

On the climbing equipment,

and in the sand and water pit.

Hannah had a brilliant time and can't wait to go back next week!

Easter Sunday

Our Easter Sunday started very early as Hannah was hoping for not just an Easter Bunny visit, but the Tooth Fairy as well as she lost another tooth last night. She was so excited she woke up at 6am, which is unheard of in our house - she usually sleeps until at least 8.30am!
She wasn't disappointed though, as she had a shiny new £2 coin for her tooth, and a basket of Easter goodies too.

We spent the day with my family at my mum's house where Hannah had an Easter egg hunt, played in her tent in grandma's garden, fed the birds and danced around chasing bubbles as well as enjoying a lovely sunday roast dinner!
Hannah and Daddy ready to go to Grandma's house.
Off on her Easter egg hunt.
Under the cherry tree on a carpet of blossom.
Finding gifts
And back with a basket full!
She loved this little quacking duckling
Setting up camp in the garden

And then Uncle Andi and Auntie Anita came and blew bubbles for Hannah to dance and twirl in, is there anything more fun than that to a 6 year old?

It's been a lovely day here, i hope you have all had a Happy Easter too :-)

Too Busy To Blog

That's what we've been this week, much too busy to blog!!
Hannah's friends who usually go to school have been on holidays this week, so we have done lots of catching up with them.
Hannah has done a little bit of school work, but not a lot, we declared this week a holiday on tuesday as the weather has been gorgeous and there was too much fun to be had outdoors!
We have spent hours in the parks and playgrounds, had two trips to Baffins pond to see the ducklings, had some fun girly shopping trips and been to the movies to see Hop, which we LOVED!

School work done on monday!
The picture came out too faint, but it actually says 'The Easter Bunny comes on Easter morning and leaves me Easter presents and chocolate', Hannah is very excited about Easter lol.

We met this very noisy, cranky goose at the pond!
and a lovely duck family.
and Grandma!
Hannah has done a lot of playground playing, and has been so brave this week. She is usually really shy of talking to other children but this week she has actually been inviting other children to play with her (and they have accepted), a big confidence step for Hannah.

Squirrel spotting in the trees!
Looking for geese,

This is Hannah picking up litter that other people had left behind in the area she wanted to play in. She cleaned it all up so the ducks wouldn't swallow it, she even had me fish some plastic bags out of the pond!
It's three o'clock in fairyland!
Playing with her dolls
Strawberry Shortcake and Raspberry Torte, she spent her pocket money on them this week and has played with them every day - they smell good too :-)
Another day, another playground!
Another slide,
and another set of monkey bars!
This afternoon we are having a rest!!!!

A Nice, Ordinary Day

Today started out quietly, with Hannah doing her lessons while i alternately helped her and supplied a constant stream of snacks!

She did some English, learning about nouns and sorting them into groups.

and then wrote out her next set of tables 5-8.
Then we decided to start a project on 'Countries Around The World' as we haven't done very much geography this year.
Hannah wanted to start with England and Great Britain, so we made a map and researched some facts and put them together with a Union Jack flag.

Hannah made a front cover for her project,
and then got on with some piano practise while i tidied up!
After lunch we had a playdate with some friends from our homeschooling group - Hannah had a lovely time with the three girls while i drank tea and chatted :-)

On the way home we stopped by the playground where Hannah finally mastered the monkey bars! She has been desperate to be able to get across them for so long, and suddenly today she managed to find the confidence to do it! She only made it half way along, and tried and tried to get all the way but her little arms got too tired so we're going back tomorrow to try again!

She also got right to the top of the rope climbing frame, which looked scarily high to me and my camera!!
I'm sure there will be lots more monkey bar pictures to follow lol!
