Granddad

After lunch there were more presents, and granddad did a magic show which was really funny, and very good!!

Granddad and the disappearing dice!

Hannah was exhausted by 5 pm and fell asleep on our bed! She had been too excited to sleep and woke up at 3 am on Christmas morning.

On Boxing Day Dean's mum spent the day with us and we went for a lovely walk around the lake at Staunton. It was the first time it hadn't poured with rain in about a week and so it was especially nice to see the sunshine.

Frosty!

Trixiebelle the Elf had a lot of fun as well - she visited all the fairies in the woods!!

It's been a lovely few days (excluding the two trips to the vet that Dean has had to make with our cat - one of them on Christmas day, but the cat is doing fine so even that wasn't too bad!!)

We hope everyone else in blogland has had a lovely Christmas as well xx

Finishing Up For Christmas

This week we have been wrapping up our group activities ready for the Christmas break.

We had a little party at Adventure Group on Tuesday, with spiced cookie decorating, party food and games.

There was another party on Wednesday, lots of playing with friends and exchanging Christmas cards, and we have also had our last history group session of the term. The girls have finished their Pilgrims lapbooks and even added a couple of extras in to them!

We made an American Indian craft to go along with the lapbook - dream catchers!

We also added in a little bit about the things the pilgrims have given us which I found in a thanksgiving pocket book, and made a traditional style toy from pilgrim times.

Hannah is really happy with her lapbook and has learned a lot. She is very keen to learn more American history now so i expect we'll do another lapbook in the new year!

Santa And Reindeer

We've had a very Christmassy weekend this weekend! Hannah and I went to see the pantomime at the local church on Friday night with some friends. It was Cinderella, performed by the Christian theatre group Saltmine and was excellent.

On Saturday we went to Staunton Farm to visit Santa. Hannah had such a lovely time. We visited all the animals, Hannah made some Christmas crafts in the elves grotto and then met with Santa. He was lovely, really friendly and chatted to her for ages.

Daddy had a very civilised chat with a goat.

Hannah thought the pigs were very aromatic!

Piglets were super cute!

Meeting Santa
Hannah would like to say a big thank you to nanny for the Santa tickets!

Yesterday we met up with Hannah's friend Coral and Coral's grandparents and went to a local garden centre to meet Santa's Reindeer.

They were lovely!

This one was very sleepy from all the excitement

Happy Girls!!

Eventually the reindeer did wake up and had a play!

Christingle, American Girl Doll "Kit" Arrives, And We Put Up The Christmas Tree

When Hannah's paternal grandfather died a few weeks ago, her nanny gave her some money to buy something special to remember him by. Hannah chose the American Girl historical doll "Kit" from 1934. She was so excited when she arrived at the weekend and decided her first outing should be to the Christingle service at grandma's church.

Hannah and Kit after the service - Hannah felted a tiny Christingle for Kit so she wouldn't feel left out :-)

After church we decorated our Christmas tree, and Hannah decorated her own little one.

If you look carefully under the little red stocking in the middle of the tree you might see Hannah peeping through!!
